Hi, I'm Menaka. I am a well-rounded Public Policy and Policy Research professional with experience building bridges between business, government, civil society, and the research community. I've tracked, analyzed, and influenced legislation and administrative policy on behalf of government agencies, businesses and trade associations, and civil society organizations. I up-skill and develop subject matter expertise quickly, think creatively and comprehensively, and can explain complex topics in understandable terms. I'm good at creating systems to monitor legislation, writing position letters, engaging stakeholders in advocacy efforts, and building innovative policy agendas. I earned a doctorate (PhD) with specialized research expertise in public policy and political economy. My advanced academic research distilled the key factors that drive policymaking and implementation, and how to leverage them to advance a cause or mission. (Ask me about my findings!) Outside of my passion for public policy, I foster injured and traumatized dogs for my local SPCA (one charming pup became a Mahajan), encourage recycling and composting in my community, love to dance, and will wake up at 4am to watch a World Cup match.
