HR Consultant/Head of HR

My most recent experience has been as an HR Consultant for a virtual startup in the financial services industry. Since September 2022, I have helped to create the necessary structure required for successful people operations throughout the organization. My accomplishments have included writing an employee manual from scratch, creating job descriptions and a performance/compensation review process, brought the company into compliance with federal and multiple state labor and payroll laws, completed an employee survey (including analyzing results and making recommendations to senior management on people operation improvements), and improved the benefit offerings for employees.
Prior to this role, I spent 18 years at a virtual staffing company where I spent more than 10 years leading the human resources and finance functions of the organization. My most recent role at the organization was Vice President, Finance and Administration. I provided leadership and strategic guidance to 20 employees responsible for the finance, accounting, payroll, human resources, retirement plan, compliance, data analytics, office administration and IT services required to fulfill the mission of a $16 million organization. I advised the Board of Directors and COO on long-term strategies, investment decisions, improvements to finance and administration activities, and organizational operations. I analyzed operational data and KPIs to identify and eliminate productivity roadblocks while enhancing processes to improve data accuracy and timeliness. Developed strategic plans to provide framework for the finance and administration team’s contributions to the corporate goals and objectives. I compiled and presented financial data and key organizational information to Board of Directors. I trained staff and management on systems to maximize utilization of new and current technology. I researched grant opportunities and wrote/submitted letters of intent/applications for funding. I managed relationships and contracts with a myriad of clients and vendors. I also led and oversaw organizational business continuity planning and risk management initiatives.
