Anne-Michele Harrington is a global marketing executive and strategic advisor who brings broad leadership experience to mission-driven companies. Anne-Michele is currently an interim CMO and marketing consultant through Chameleon Collective and an advisory board member at Previse Skincare. Previously Anne-Michele held CMO roles at Mielle Organics, the fastest-growing Black-owned global beauty brand, and LEAP Innovations, an innovative non-profit startup in the education space. Her expertise helps CEOs and executive teams navigate the complexity and opportunities of fast-growth consumer-focused brands. Anne-Michele has built and reinvigorated brands and teams in both domestic and global markets ranging from iconic brands (including Skippy, Hunt’s Tomatoes, and Ziploc) at Fortune 500, global consumer goods companies to fast-growth, mid-tier companies (Mielle Organics). Her experience spans a variety of categories including Consumer Products, Food & Beverage, Beauty, Household Cleaning, Water Filtration, Luxury Appliances, and Education with deep expertise in fast-moving consumer goods. She is known for providing straight-forward, insight-driven, strategies and for her focus on ensuring brand engagement and consistency. She has a track record of driving sustainable revenue and profit growth by uncovering and activating consumer insights to guide brand strategy, marketing strategy, business plans, P&L improvement, and category-leading innovations.   As the first CMO for Mielle Organics, Anne-Michele instituted a strategic and data-driven marketing approach to double the business revenue annually. Combining qualitative and quantitative data she identified incremental growth opportunities for existing products and evolved new product launches resulting in +70% DTC sales growth, rapidly increased email and sms subscribers +30% (exceeding 1MM subscribers) to enable new consumer acquisition, and established metrics for marketing spend performance aligned to P&L. She worked closely with the CEO to ensure differentiated positioning to evolve the founder’s personal brand. Anne-Michele also maintained a broad strategic business view leading cross-functional partners to maximize revenue and profit by: prioritizing fast growth, high margin sales channels; minimizing retail out-of-stocks; and implementing a cross-functional operating process to streamline commercialization.   Earlier, in her brand leadership roles at Unilever and ConAgra Foods, Anne-Michele led business turnarounds, brands ranging in size from $200 MM - to $700 MM revenue, by developing and evolving purpose-driven brands, harmonizing marketing and sales strategies to elevate brand visibility, and through innovative partnerships in both traditional and social/digital media. On international assignment with Unilever, she led a multi-national team spanning 20+ countries to deliver revenue and share growth as well as consistent brand positioning. As CMO at LEAP Innovations, she developed LEAP’s brand strategy, established the marketing department, and drove increased engagement (website +25%; social media +50%).   Anne-Michele’s passion for providing consumers with products and services that solve their evolving lifestyle needs led her to angel investing, advising early-stage companies, and mentoring at Chicago’s Innovative 1871. In this capacity, she offers holistic strategic advice including company strategy, consumer targeting, and creating brand consistency in the marketplace. As advisory board member at Previse Skincare, she advises the CEO on growth strategies and innovation plans.   Anne-Michele holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, a Masters in Engineering from The State University of New York at Buffalo, and a BS in Physics from Georgetown University which enables her to advise on business strategy and operations from multiple vantage points.
